Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) decided to cancel indefinitely new oil rounds in Mexico, arguing that this has not generated positive results for the country. However, the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) reported the production of the oil contracts from past rounds, with positive results.
Pemex published production figures for October, reporting a new decrease in this month. The firm had reported an increase in September, but the firm lost the ground gained this month, reaching historical low levels.
After sending ‘go away’ messages to the industry during his campaign, AMLO confirmed that he will seek to improve production levels in Mexico together with foreign firms.
